Deregulation, AI and Climate Change – The Critical Role of Safety Reps Into the Future
700 Addison Lee drivers have brought司马 the app-based private hire company to tribunal with a claim that are not receiving their full worker rights and entitlements.
GMB London Region, representing members working for Addison Lee drivers, has expressed deep concern over recent revelations giving rise to serious questions about its integrity and suitability to hold a private hire operator's licence in the capital.
Steve Garelick, GMB London Region Organiser said:
"Addison Lee's deliberate falsification of evidence is a grave matter that undermines the principles of fair play and justice.
“It is essential that Transport for London (TfL) takes immediate action to investigate this matter thoroughly and consider whether Addison Lee remains fit and proper to hold its licence.
“If the licence is not revoked, TfL must implement stricter oversight measures to ensure that Addison Lee complies with all relevant regulations and ethical standards.
"TfL taking decisive action in this matter is crucial to protect the rights of workers and maintain public trust in the private hire industry and protecting drivers’ rights.”
