Changes to Yodel courier rates slammed as 'morally wrong'
GMB Union has slammed changes to Yodel courier rates, which come into effect today [Monday 15 September].
GMB Union and Airbase GSE ULD at Heathrow Airport have signed a recognition agreement, providing dozens of workers with union protection.
The agreement – which covers pay, terms, and conditions – follows efforts led by staff to encourage their employer to recognise GMB.
The agreement will provide workers with improved bargaining rights and the ability to vote on future pay deals.
Union representatives have also been elected to help support members at Airbase GSE ULD with any workplace issues.
Steve Garelick, GMB Regional Organiser, said:
“GMB is pleased to have reached this agreement and we look forward to a continuing our constructive relationship with Airbase GSE ULD.
“This is welcome news for the workers, who have been clear on their desire for union recognition.
“Many of our members in the company work in demanding manufacturing roles.
“Union recognition will help ensure they enjoy the fair pay and safe conditions they deserve.”
Airbase GSE ULD said:
“We welcome this agreement with GMB and look forward to working together constructively to support our colleagues, ensuring a positive and collaborative workplace for the future.”
